On Tuesday, February 4th, and Wednesday, February 5th, we held a special English education event at our school. The “Rainbow Program,” which is a pillar of learning at Aitoku Gakuen, aims to cultivate the “seven skills” that students will need in the future. In this year’s 9th Grade English training “English Seminar,” we focused on three key skills: English proficiency, communication skills, and presentation skills.
With the goal of developing these three skills, we implemented a project that embodies the core values of Aitoku Gakuen: a desire for “world peace” and a spirit of “service to others.” This project we named the “Aitoku Peace Film Awards.” Based on the peace studies conducted throughout the year, students challenged themselves to express messages about peace in their own unique way through short films, sharing their ideas with the world in English.
Since the beginning of this year, students have been using their integrated studies and homeroom time to brainstorm ideas, write scripts, and develop storyboards in preparation for this project. During the English Seminar, each group was joined by an ALT (Assistant Language Teacher), who helped refine their content, hone their English expressions, and develop their acting abilities.
Finally, it was time for filming! Students took on all roles, including acting, directing, filming, and editing, working collaboratively not only among themselves but also with the ALT to create a single piece of work.

2月４日（火）と５日（水）の２日間、校内で英語研修を行いました。
愛徳学園での学びの柱である「Rainbow Program」。このプログラムを通して、生徒たちは将来必要となる「７つの力」を育んでいます。
今回の中3英語研修では、英語力、コミュニケーション力、プレゼンテーション力の３つの力にフォーカスをあてました。
上記３つの力を育成する目的を持ち、愛徳学園での学びの根幹にある、「世界平和」への願い、「他者への奉仕」の心を行動に移すようなプロジェクトを実施しました。
そのプロジェクト名は、”Aitoku Peace Film Awards”です。生徒たちは、今年一年かけて行ってきた平和学習を元に、今の自分たちだからこそ発信できる平和に関するメッセージを、動画で表現し、英語で世界に発信する、というプロジェクトに挑みました。
今年に入ってから、総合やホームルームの時間を使って、グループでアイディアを出し合い、脚本や絵コンテを作成して準備を行ってきました。
それらの準備を元に、英語研修では、各グループに一人のALTが入り、ネイティブスピーカーによる英語表現の修正や演技指導を通して、内容がさらに磨かれました。
そして、いよいよ撮影タイム！ 出演、監督、撮影、編集もすべて生徒が自分たちで行います生徒間だけでなく、ALTとも協力して、１つの作品を作っていきます。
